Poor Economy = LTCI Sales

Problem

A broker had a good relationship with the HR Director. The owner of the business was currently dealing with long term care issues for his parents. The broker had set up an appointment for one of Insurance Advisors’ multi-life specialists to meet with the key people at the company. Two days before the meeting, due to the economy, the company announced a layoff of 12% of their workforce. We advised the broker to keep the meeting even though he thought he should reschedule for a better time.

Our Solution:

We prepared our presentation to address the fact that because of the layoff the company would benefit by the implementation of an employer sponsored and paid for multi-life program. Our multi-life expert explained the following:

  • Since the company was “leaner” it was imperative that the company maintain the productivity of their employees.
    • We explained how Multi-life LTCI does exactly that by getting spouses of employees insured so that when an employee becomes a caregiver their productivity is not lost at work as the plan provides the money they need to take care of their spouse.

  • We held 30 minute group meetings with employees and explained the benefits of the program and answered their questions.
    • They were given a packet of information to take home to discuss coverage options with their spouse.
  • We met with those interested in spousal or additional coverage and used a Tele-app that only takes 2 minutes to complete.
  • Had him set a date for conference call
  • We delivered both employee and spouse policies at the company.

Result & Benefits Provided:

  • Company saw and received benefit of protecting employee productivity.
  • Employees felt much better about their employer.
  • Broker solidified relationship with company
